How to grow potatoes in a city apartment? Petr Senkovsky, agronomist, and candidate in chemical sciences answers:
– To get a crop, we take larger pots, but so that they fit on the windowsill. In the store, you should buy a soil mixture, put it in pots and pour it with pre-settled water at room temperature.
Then we take a tuber with seedlings, even the most wrinkled and unpresentable one, the main thing is that it is without signs of rot and rot. We cut it into several pieces. Each of them – together with the seedling, of course – is buried in the soil, to a depth of 7-8 cm. We put the pots on the windowsills, where there is more sun. Perhaps the batteries pass under the window sills, so heat is saved. But if this is not the case for you, find not only a sunny point but also a warm one.
Now it remains only to water the pots – about once every two to three days. The indicator for watering is dry soil at a depth of 2-3 centimeters.
Shoots should appear in about ten days. When the potatoes bloom, everything is like in nature – it means that the tubers are formed and it is not far before digging.
